Position Summary – Certification Director
The Certification Director manages the chapter's SHRM Certification program. This role focuses on increasing the number of chapter members certified as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. The director encourages both certification and recertification among chapter members and supports ongoing professional development.
Reports To:

- Chapter President
- State Council Certification Director
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the SHRM Recertification Provider point of contact for the Chapter account.
- Promote the benefits of SHRM certification to members.
- Lead efforts to plan and secure speakers and materials for SHRM certification study group meetings.
- Provide information about the chapter's SHRM certification study group at membership meetings and through the chapter website, social media platforms, and newsletter (if applicable).
- If no chapter study group exists, provide members with information on alternative study methods.
- Recognize members who become SHRM certified by passing the exam or through the pathway process.
- Share information on recertification Professional Development Credits (PDCs) with members.
- Communicate any changes in recertification requirements.
- Maintain communication with the State Council Certification Director and SHRM staff as needed.
- Participate in SHRM Certification Core Leadership Area teleconferences/webcasts and disseminate relevant information to the Chapter Board and membership.
- Assist in the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans for the chapter.
- Represent the chapter within the broader human resources community.
- Attend all monthly membership meetings and Board of Directors meetings.
Requirements
- Must be a SHRM national member and Chapter member in good standing.
- Must hold a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
