Position Summary – Director of Sponsorships

The Director of Sponsorships is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining sponsorship relationships that support the mission, programs, and events of Loudoun SHRM. This role plays a key part in securing financial support from businesses and community partners while fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.

Reports To:

  • Members of the Chapter
  • The Chapter President

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, solicit, and secure sponsorships for chapter programs, meetings, conferences, and special events.
  • Develop sponsorship packages and benefits aligned with chapter goals and SHRM brand standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for current and prospective sponsors.
  • Maintain accurate records of sponsorship agreements, benefits, and fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with other board chairs to ensure sponsor recognition and visibility.
  • Ensure sponsor benefits (logos, space, speaking opportunities) are delivered as promised.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors through regular communication and follow-up.
  • Prepare sponsorship reports.
  • Support renewal efforts and ensure long-term partnerships are developed.

Requirements

  • Comfortable with outreach via email, phone, and in-person networking.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to track multiple sponsorships.
  • Familiar with SHRM and HR professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and board members.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to SHRM's values and code of ethics.
