Position Summary – Hospitality Director

The Hospitality Director ensures a welcoming, well-organized experience for members, guests, speakers, and sponsors at all chapter meetings and events. This role manages event logistics such as venue coordination, catering, and registration, and serves as the friendly face of the chapter, helping new members and first-time attendees feel at home.

Reports To:

  • Members of the Chapter
  • The Chapter President

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate event logistics for chapter meetings and events, including venue selection, room setup, catering, and audio/visual needs.
  • Manage on-site check-in and registration, ensuring a smooth arrival experience for members and guests.
  • Welcome new members and first-time attendees, helping them feel included and connected to the chapter.
  • Coordinate with venues and vendors to confirm details, timing, and contracts for meetings and events.
  • Work with the Director of Programs and Director of Sponsorships to ensure speakers and sponsors are properly hosted and recognized.
  • Track dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, and other accommodations for attendees.
  • Maintain a supply of nametags, signage, and other materials needed at events.
  • Gather feedback on the member and guest experience and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in identifying and securing venues for meetings, socials, and special events.
  • Serve as an active member of the SHRM chapter board.
  • Attend all monthly membership meetings and Board of Directors meetings.

Requirements

  • Must be a SHRM national member and Chapter member in good standing.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable coordinating with vendors and managing event-day logistics.
